Functioning Overview

Solvop Short Term Production Planner provides the planners with a complete view on one screen where they can plan, the production say for a week and also see the impact of the plan on key performance indicators.

Import planned work orders and ingredient/component stock data from the ERP into Solvop using excel /CSV files. Then decide how many days of production you want to plan. Solvop builds a view of demand, stock and capacity. Easily decide upon the production quantity for each product in such a way that production does not exceed demand and component shortages are avoided. Solvop also shows, the impact of the plan on the following Key objectives:

Throughput

Capacity Utilization

Fulfilment

Profitability

Further refine your plan by invoking the optimizer or straight away entrust the optimizer to give an optimum plan which maximizes one of the above objectives.

The plan is now available in the form of a report which is to be fed into your ERP for execution.

This plan may be constrained by shortages of some components. A list of such components is made available, so that planners can expedite their supply.

If capacity, turns out to be the constraint it is highlighted, so that planners can explore options like overtime or subcontracting, if possible.

Another useful insight from Solvop is ‘Inventory Trends’. It presents to you, the frequency of shortages of each input item. Inventory policies of items with frequent shortages (and the ones with no shortages) can be rationalized based on the same. This also assists in inventory management.
